Oronoco Bay Park is a 5.08-acre park located along the Potomac River at 100 Madison St. in Alexandria. The historic park was once inhabited by Indians in the 17th century and later owned by Standard Oil Company. The City of Alexandria acquired the land in the 1980s and developed it into a park. Today, Oronoco Bay Park is a favorite location among the locals who come to jog, walk, bike, and picnic. During the warmer months of the year, you will find festivals and special events being held there including the USA - Alexandria Birthday Celebration, where locals come to see fireworks and listen to a concert performed by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra. Features of the park include event space, parking, picnic areas with benches, and walking/biking/jogging trails. The entrances to the park are at Madison St., Pendleton St., and Wythe Street Plaza. The park is only a two minutes drive from Port Royal condos.
